2008 Boss Hoss Cycles
Boss Hoss Cycles, manufacturer of those big & mighty V8-powered highway-eaters, has reshaped its line-up for 2008 with the introduction of the new 364ci BHC-3 LS2. The new more stringent 2008 auto emissions regulations are now even affecting the custom motorcycle industry. In the case of Boss Hoss, it may end up actually helping performance. Boss Hoss Cycles, the Tennessee boss of big, V8-powered monster motorcycles, has announced that its largest and baddest horsepower machine, (the 502-hp 8.2-liter big block) has eaten it’s last chunk of asphalt and will ride off into the sunset … a victim of the feds. So once again, we have CARB and the EPA to thank for killing off another innovative motorcycle. Regardless of the growing imposition of emissions standards, Boss Hoss Cycles are optimistic. “We are very excited about the new models, especially the LS2,” says Rad Hunsley, COO of Boss Hoss. “We hope to continue our success with the new 2008 models and grow as an established manufacturer in the motorcycle community.” So have no fear V-8 heads … Taking the place of the monster 502, appears a lighter, lower and even quicker Boss Hoss, the 2008 BHC-3 LS2.
The new Boss Hoss BCH-3 LS2 was unveiled at Sturgis in August, 2007. According to Boss Hoss Cycles, this new 425 horsepower cruiser is "both the beauty and the beast, it rumbles and it purrs ... The new LS2 model is the best overall motorcycle that we have ever built,” continued Hunsley, “The lower center of gravity and incredible power-to-weight ratio provide a performance and feel unmatched by any other production motorcycle I’ve ever ridden! We may have just produced the perfect motorcycle." The new 2008 BHC-3 LS2 Hoss trades raw cubic inches for cutting edge technology. It is powered by a General Motors LS2 small block that cranks out 425 hp and 425 lb.-ft. of torque, the same updated engine which was introduced in the 2005 Corvette! So think about it … The 2005 Chevy Corvette weighed approximately 3200 pounds with a top speed of 186 mph. Now you have to figure if the Boss Hoss BCH-3 LS2 weighs somewhere around one-third as much, you’ll have a strong notion of how hard this new Hoss can gallop. Also, the BHC-3 is lighter and slimmer than the 502. Shaving off approximately 235 pounds and incorporating a lower seat height and shorter wheelbase. These smart updates should contribute to better handling and the optional Boss Hoss Legend Air Suspension softens the ride. Plus, all 2008 model Boss Hoss cycles and trikes are fed by electronic fuel injection, controlled by a Delphi electronic control module (ECM), and fitted with a redesigned catalytic exhaust system to meet all current EPA and CARB emissions standards. Plus, a once 'optional' Brembo rear disc brake system is now standard equipment on all 2008 Boss Hoss Trikes. Now, If you are looking for more stability and/or carrying and towing capacity .. Boss Hoss has now dropped it’s big V-8’s into several of their trike models too. Boss Hoss trike styles include the ’57 Chevy, a classic 2000 Sierra Pickup or a ’32 Roadster. Trike sales have been on the rise over the past years, with the aging baby-boomer population. Rumor has it that even Harley-Davidson has plans for a trike model for 2009. Boss Hoss is the only production made V-8 powered motorcycle in the world with over 4,000 motorcycles sold. These super-sized cruisers feature two-speed semi-automatic transmissions with a ‘real’ reverse, while Boss Hoss Trikes employ a three-speed automatic transmission with reverse. 2008 Boss Hoss bikes and trikes are available in three horsepower configurations: 355, 385, and 425 horsepower configurations. Prices for a big 2008 Boss Hoss bike or trike? Think big ... $40K + Sell Your New or Used Motorcycle For Free Here at Motorcycles4SaleOnline.com |
